Kenya has over the years experienced emergencies and disasters of various types such as Lackof peace and insecurity, geological, hydro-meteorological, biological, societal unrest, terrorism and technological disasters that disrupt livelihoods, destroy the infrastructure, divert planned use of resources, interrupt economic activities and retard development. In the last decade, Kenya has experienced major epidemics, floods, drought, pandemic such as covid 19, social unrest and mass casualty incidents. .
History
The founders realized that the international efforts in Kenya though rewarding did not completely tackle disaster mitigation & preparedness, ignorance and disease eradication.

The founders realized that the international efforts in Kenya though rewarding did not completely tackle disaster mitigation & preparedness, ignorance and disease eradication. The idea behind the ADREF was to tackle the issue of biting poverty in marginalized communities in the country by targeting projects aimed at eradicating poverty. The foundation seeks to improve the living standard for not only Kenyans but Africans in general.
